Gathering Markit is a Non-Profit Grocery Store. We provide vulnerable and at-risk families living in Abbotsford access to affordable healthy food. Since we are not open to the public, our agency partnerships and client referral process ensures that access is restricted to community members in need.
Client Eligibility
Poverty and food insecurity exist across many segments of a community. It may be easy to identify or sometimes it is more complex. Gathering Markit works with agencies that have a stringent criterion for identification, and also with agencies that identify their services as low barrier eligibility. We rely on your intimate working knowledge and your organization’s. criteria for defining a food insecure client. This may be determined by in person interviews, the collection of confidential information, access to government database, or other assessment tools employed by your organization.
Who may refer a client?
Organization profile: a charitable and /or non-profit organization that serves community members in need of food or financial assistance. This includes religious, academic, counselling, and medical institutions, and general community services. If you are unsure of your eligibility, you may inquire at info@gatheringmarkit.com.
Your employee profile: you work directly with your clients and have knowledge of their food insecurity or financial position and can validate your client’s eligibility. Individuals who serve in a managerial or directorial position may also complete this form on behalf of their staff or the client if the above criteria are satisfied.
